The Train Station
The Train Station, Jalan Stasion.
The first station was constructed in Bandung in 1884 and served the routes of Batavia – Bandung – Yogyakarta – Surabaya. It was a simple one story building of wood, in the ‘romantic’ style, and was used by no fewer than 1.3 million people per year for about 50 years. In celebration of the 50th year of the state railroad, a newer modern building was constructed in 1926. It was designed in the Art Deco Geometric style with handsome stained glass windows.

The Red Villa
This house was designed by R.L.A Schoemaker to fulfill the housing needs for the professors at the Institute of Technology of Bandung. The building was designed using ballast bricks. As the bricks were not plastered as in the case of most other buildings in Bandung, the house was nicknamed Villa Merah for the red of the exposed brick Schoemaker intended the construction to show that not all brick buildings require a plaster finish to be beautiful.
